About Us

Windermere beds is a small local supplier of mattresses and base units. The business was set up in response to our own experience of purchasing beds from a number of sources.

Our aims are to:

• Supply good quality products at a more reasonable price than many other suppliers. There are a number of reasons why we are able to provide such good value for money. This is primarily because we are a solely web based business so our running costs are kept to a minimum. This is a saving which we pass on direct (and in full) to the customer. We have neither glitzy showrooms to run nor sales staff to employ.
• Offer a one to one service. We encourage you to call us if you have any questions or specific requests - there is no call centre or automated telephone system. You will speak to a real person and invariably the same person if you call again! We are not out to sell at all costs, but to ensure you get what you want - and we hope we will be able to provide that. We want you to recommend us to your colleagues, friends and family and to order from us again.
• Accommodate your requirements in terms of order time and delivery arrangements. We do not have set delivery schedules, and as such we are happy to try and accommodate your needs. In terms of lead in time, we can turn around an order faster than other suppliers. As for delivery times and dates, we offer evenings as standard and subject to prior agreement will also deliver weekends.
• Provide an environmentally sounder option. In many cases beds are transported vast distances. We have deliberately chosen to source our products from the best and most local manufacturer as well as restricting our sales coverage to Cumbria and the immediate counties. In this way we reduce the number of ‘bed’ miles each of our products accrues. In the future we wish to expand our service to encompass disposal and recycling of the packaging.

Ultimately we have identified both a space and demand within the market for a business such as ours. We are not looking to compete with the big players in the field, but rather offer customers and alternative and a choice about the level of service they receive. We intend to remain small enough that every customer remains an individual and not simply a mobile phone number.
